I bought a PN579X active pen a couple of weeks ago to use with a XPS 15-9575 2-in-1. It worked fine until I tried to update the firmware. The firmware update tool got stuck halfway through the process, I left it to run for a couple of hours but no change. Now the pen does not respond apart from showing an orange light when the top button is pressed.
Just pull out the back-end to cut off the batter power. After that it is working again. I tried the update as well and the pen might be on a newer firmware. My Firmware is 0F08 and the Application wants to update to 0F0C.
The pen works now that I have put a new battery in it. I think the supplied battery was defective.
Have same issue on XPS 13 9360 computer with this pen. Two days ago I called before ordering and was told by Dell person the pen was compatible with my system. On call with technical support now.
