DELL XPS 12-9Q33 Screen problem -> Single Vertical Line

Hi,

I'm using Dell XPS 12-9Q33 for almost 4 years now but hadn't had any issues except poor battery life which seems to be a problem with every laptop.

Today I was using my laptop and and after a few minutes of use I noticed the single vertical line on the left side of the screen.

The color of the dotted single vertical line seems to be changing from blue to yellow even. And I've noticed it flicker once.

Me, being worried, went through different articles on the internet and came across if the vertical line appears even in the BIOS screen. Yes it does!

Please help me if I could do anything to fix it and if it has to be done at service center could you please share the price of the screen getting fixed. (in India)

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read and answer my query.

You'll need to contact Dell India for a repair estimate -- assuming they have the parts (they may not;  after three years, parts are generally not stocked).

The part goes for somewhere around $100US

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-Dell-XPS-12-LCD-screen-LP125WF1-Touch-LCD-assembly-1920-1080-Tested-Free-shipping/32820883014.html

Add whatever an hour's labor costs  and it's probably a $200 repair or thereabouts.

Thanks a lot for replying @ejn63.

The problem seems to have solved on its own. I wasn't using the laptop but today when i logged in I don't see any line.

But again now I see the vertical line.

Can you please tell me if I use the laptop with the vertical line will these lines increase in future leading to complete failure of the display?

Impossible to predict -- it may be just that one line, or it may spread.
