XP5 15 9575 fans always running when charged

So I just purchased a an xps 15 9575 and noticed that fans consistently come on while charged even when the computer is not under load. Im talking below 50 C and just browsing the internet. I know this was an issue at release which was fixed I believe with bios update 1.1.5 and I updated the bios to 1.2.0 the same day I got the laptop, so just wanted to ask if anyone else has this issue. I even changed the fans to passive while charging in the battery settings and that hasnt seemed to do anything.

    Hi,

Try installing the BIOS version 1.1.7 first and then 1.2.0. I don't know why but 1.2.0 does not seem to include any changes for the fans. What ever was happening before installing 1.2.0 does not seem to change after.

Note: There is still an issue with the fans where they will automatically turn on if you switch the laptop into a tablet or tent configuration, but in laptop mode it should be ok.

Thank you for your message. Is the fan noise louder in quiet mode than in other modes?

Is the noise high when the system is being charged?

    Please update the following drivers.

    Intel Chipset Device software driver
Intel Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework
BIOS (even if you have the latest version)

For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.

How to locate the service tag
