XPS 12 9250 Will not start up

Hi all,

my Laptop, a XPS 12 9250, will not start up anymore.

The whole issue started that I was only able to boot into the automatic repair and after 10sec the XPS freezes. I could get into the BIOS and it showed me all info and specs correctly.

I did the automatic test as well and it told me some issues with the memory. So I replaced the SSD Drive with a new Samsung 970 NVMe 1TB. I could start again and within the BIOS it showed the new SSD and the USB with the Windows version on it correctly. But I was never able to boot into the USB drive.

I tried different things recommend in the internet.

After Power on and "FN" key at the same time the laptop starts up but the display keeps being black.

The lighton the power button is on and sometimes is signals 3x amber and 3x times and this lasts for about 4 times.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Nico

I am curious. If testing showed issues with memory, why did you replace the drive and not the RAM?

It is a convertible so RAM is fixed to the board.

And with the faulty SSD the LEDs showed the 3x Amber's and 3 x white flashing and after replacing it with a new SSD the LED does not show this pattern anymore
