So since the day that I purchased this laptop (about three weeks ago) I have noticed that intermittently the fingerprint scanner will not work.  Sometimes it works just fine, but others it will not acknoweledge that I have even used it. 

I have went into the setup to setup another fingerprint and it doesn't even acknowledge that I have my finger on the sensor.  I will have to completely restart the computer for the sensor to start working again.   This happens after about two days of usage.  As I don't reboot my laptop all the time. 

I checked the other thread with this same issue and someone stated that changing the settings to turn off Windows Power Management for the fingerprint reader does not help.  I am still having the problem regardless of the setting and have changed it back and forth like 3-4 times giving it a couple times each time to see if it's going to work.  

Also why does Dell want to do troubleshooting and solving of issues through PM?  That defeats the purpose of the forum and community answers.  If you solved the problem for the other person then why not share the answer so that it could potentially help others?
