When I checked the advanced-power options menu in BIOS for WOL settings, I could see AC recovery settings, Deep sleep settings, and Auto power on related settings, but I could not find any Wake On LAN related functions.
In the network adapter settings in Device Manager, I can use the "wake on magic packet" and "wake on pattern match" functions, but I do not know how to set the hardware for WOL in BIOS.
Can you explain in detail how to set WOL for Alienware Aurora R16?
Turn off Deep Sleep Control and enable USB PowerShare in S4/S5 state. If you are using this for turning on your PC using Wake Me Up app on IOS that should work which it did for me just now.
Hi sorry I totally forgot thats what it should be no I didnt change anything else in network settings, are you using Ethernet? I think you have to have Ethernet cable already connected than give it try if you need recommendations on Ethernet cable just let me know!
@KevM_ Hi, I didint understand are you using Ethernet or wifi? If you are using ethernet try keeping the wifi off, what exactly are you trying to do with your pc, brw our configurations are same except maybe graphic card and cpu
@KevM_ mine is also stays off after turing my pc off, could you try using this app on your phone https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/wake-me-up-wake-on-lan/id1465416032 I feel like its already enabled for you, give this app a try if you need help setting it up let me know but its pretty simple
@Butcher79 I have an Aurora R16 with the exact same BIOS configuration in your photo. WOL worked perfectly for several months via the WOLon Android app, but after being unplugged and unused for a couple of months, WOL is no longer working. Any ideas?
@KareemPai I suggest Give it a try with another device, both android and iOS if that didn’t work try to use different apps too. also try to change the BIOS settings to what it used to be then give it a restart and then redo it again. You can use the restore points on your Windows. Maybe Windows updates changed some of your settings. if nothing worked you can try to reset your whole PC using Dell support assist as I did when it didn’t work no matter what I did just recently.
