Area-51m R2, GPU driver updated, screen black

So just updated driver for my GPU and now the screen goes black and restarts after a couple of minutes. Everytime I get to the sign in page it does the same. Every now and then it'll let me go to my home screen for a couple of minutes then shut down again. But I can run it in safe mode and have no problems. So I'm wondering if my GPU just died or if it's a software issue?

Hopefully it's just a driver issue. You can try to do a system restore to a restore point when the laptop was working fine. This should remove any software updates that may have caused the issue. You'll probably have to do this in Safe Mode.

Another way is to restart again in Safe Mode with Networking and download and run DDU so you can completely remove all traces of the display driver. Then download another driver from Nvidia and see how it goes.

That's the other weird thing everything passes saying there's no problems.

The next thing to try is the Diagnostic. Press F12 during post to get into the Boot Menu. You can select the Diagnostic from there. I'm assuming that these later models still have the old ePSA diagnostic.

The diagnostic doesn't always pick up every hardware issue, especially if it only shows itself at random times. You can also see if your system BIOS is up to date. If it isn't them you may want to update it. You can also try reflashing the GPU's vBIOS but do some research into this before you try it.
