Update Failed

Failed to push out a iDRAC firmware and Lifecycle application update via iDRAC method to a device.  The current iDRAC firmware version is 1.8 and it's being updated to 1.95.  Here is the error:

Results:
Downloading Packages.
Package ESM_Firmware_CMDN0_WN32_1.95_A00.EXE failed to download on target device. Package Lifecycle-Controller_Application_6V5JC_WN32_1.5.5.27_A00.EXE failed to download on target device. Update failed.
Software Update Task Failed

Any ideas? I verified the iDRAC username/password is correct..

Quick update, found another resource which mentioned updating the iDRAC firmware prior to OME working on 11g servers.  This worked.  However, I'm still unable to see PERC firmware versions when discovering iDRACs via ws-man.  I can see the information if I discover using the OMSA  (WMI) discover method.

    Is this to be expected?

It doesn't, so I'm assuming we'll have to go with the WMI route.

I updated the Lifecycle firmware and it said completed, however when looking at the firmware version it's still on the old version.  Any ideas?

Please check if "Software Inventory" in Manage -> Devices -> RAC -> for that iDRAC shows PERC controller.

It is possible certain updates are only supported thru' OMSA and not iDRAC or vice-versa for 11G servers.

After the firmware is updated, it will take approximately 15-20 minutes for inventory to run and pull the new firmware/BIOS version info.

If that does not work, delete the device and re-run discovery+inventory.

    Last option:

From "Manage -> System updates" page, select "Advanced settings". Select "Enable Downgrades". Wait for 10 mins and select "Disable Downgrades". Check if the firmware version is updated,
