Is it possible to associate more NICs to Virtual Nodes?
I don't think so, but I am not 100% on that. In either case, it isn't required for having more than one external subnet.
So is it possible to have more than one subnet on the IsilonSD Edge?
Yes it is possible. Having additional NICS is not required to have additional subnets. The instructions for how to add the additional subnets for the webui or the command line are available in the OneFS documentation for whatever version you are using.
In a physical hardware I know is possible to create more than one subnet using the same physical NIC by using VLAN tag!
But on the IsilonSD, during deployment, we select only one VMware PortGroup as External network and this PortGroup is associated to only one subnet/VLAN. Correct?
The physical hardware does not require vlan tagging with multiple subnets. I am not sure on the PortGroup requirements though. I will do some digging and see what I can come up with.
