Hi folks - After watching video talks/lectures for just under 4 hours, my E7470 turned itself off. The laptop is raised & the vents are well clear of the desk, so my guess is that it's overheating & then powering off.
I use a wide screen TV as an external monitor via an HDMI cable. Does this impose an extra load on the CPU?
I'd welcome advice on how to monitor the temps, and if possible, regulate the fan speed.
Your thoughts will be appreciated, Kind regards, Niloc1017 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Latitude E7470, manf 2017, Intel i5, W10 Pro build 20H2, 256GB SSD M.2 2280, 128GB SD card for portable apps etc, 16 GB ram
While it is interesting that this is possible, it is not entirely useful with only 3 possible fan settings and the fact that the max fan setting isn't as effective as the EC controlled max fan setting. As well as losing brightness control (on some laptop models)
