Go to SolutionIGFX and Discrete
Hello,
I'm on a Alienware X51 R2, Windows 8.1 on board, Intel HD Graphics 4600 and NVidia GeForce GTX 760 Ti OEM as graphic cards. On the rear panel (see image), there are 2 DVI and 2 HDMI. I'm using 1 of the DVI.
First question: in the BIOS options, what am I supposed to select between "IGFX" and "discrete"? I think I got on internet that "IGFX" is for Intel and "discrete" is for Nvidia, but I don't know which one is connected to the DVI port I'm using...
Second question: how to select "phisically" which card to use, maybe HDMI is for Intel and DVI dor Nvidia, or what?
Thanks anyway to anyone!

The arrow is pointing to the Discrete (added) GeForce GTX 760 Ti. That is where the monitor should be connected.
In the bios, set it to Discrete. Once selected, you can use any of the ports on the GeForce GTX 760 Ti. The onboard video ports to the right of the colored audio ports are disabled when Discrete is chosen in the bios.
