Dimension 3000 & Hotkeys
Hi,
I just noticed that the Email Hotkey is not working; only thing I have done recently is to run SP3. How can I reset it so it opens my Outlook Express 6 ?
Many thanks

Hi Ron,
Thanks & I had Tweak but couldn't find it, thanks to you, I did. But I tried both the "perform the default action when the key is pressed (which was already marked), then found the Target of OE6, by right clicking>Properties & Pasted that in the Target Box; neither worked.
That said, the other Hot Keys are working fine, just not the email key.
Any other possibles ?
Thanks
Dallas

Thanks Ron & don't believe it's a bad keyboards as everything else works fine. I diod try a Driver Update, but it had no effect on this stock, wirelsss Dell KB.

You need to test the keyboard. You can't just assume it's ok because everything else works. Keyboards can and do fail. Sometimes it's just one key that stops working, especially if it's a key that gets used a lot.
It's possible something in the SP3 update disabled that key, but then I would have expected to see a lot of other people complaining about the same problem on these forums.
You can try contacting Microsoft for free SP3 support to see if they have any experience/solutions to this problem: (866) 234-6020 toll-free in US.

- Make sure you have Dell Quickset installed on your computer. If not, then download it and install from Drivers & Downloads.

Dallas,
Sorry to hear about your problem. I hope you recover quickly and fully.
If PuddgOne's suggestion about Quickset doesn't help, go to this link for access to free email and chat support for SP3 from Microsoft.
Be well!

Rick, thanks & no, not to my minimal knowledge of my PC - still a neophyte at 51 years of age! But I ran a Search for Quickset & found nothing. When I bought this machine, it had all the software pre-installed. But are you saying I needed to frst install Quickest, then SP3 ? I didn't see any mention of this.
Thanks again
Dallas

Since you're using XP, you may be able to do this using Tweak UI, free from Microsoft. You can find a link to download it here.
After you install TUI, launch it and expand the list under Explorer in the left pane. Select Command Keys and see if you can set the command key the way you want in the right pane.
