Well this wasn't too bright on my part.  PC was starting to show signs of slowdown so I formatted completelty.  I have a copy of XP so I used that because I thought I just couldn't find the copy that came with the PC, didn't realize that one just didn't come.  Anyways after reinstalling drivers are missing for a number of things, most importantly, ethernet controller/card, videocard, soundcard, etc, etc.
