A blinking yellow power button light, usually means, a power supply or motherboard failure has occurred.

Try a different power supply, or if you are handy around computers, you could try testing the power supply by unplugging the 24 pin connector from the motherboard and disconnect everything from the power supply, except a hard drive, then jump the Green wire to one of the Black wires, then if the hard drive and the power supply fan does not run, it would seem the power supply has failed.

Do not remove any wires from the plug, use a small piece of wire or a paper clip as a jumper.

The E310/3100 Diagnostic codes are here

The 3100/E310 has an open back panel, you are use most standard generic stock ATX power supplies, with either a 24-pin or 20+4-pin motherboard main connector, with or without the on/off switch and two SATA power connectors, can be installed, you should be able to buy the power supply from most local or online computer stores.

The instructions for replacing the power supply are here.

    Bev.

If you have a local Best Buy, Circuit City, or Staples, you should be able to buy the power supply there.

You can buy a suitable power supply online from here.

Where would I go to get one of these power supply units?

OK, I went and and bought a new power supply unit and that didn't work.  I also tried your power supply troubleshooter by jumping the green and black wire and that DID work with both the old and new unit.  Now I suppose that you are going to tell me that either or both my mother board or processor has failed, go ahead and give me the bad news.

    Thanks.

As you have replaced the power supply and the system still does not work, again remove the power cord, hold power button in for several seconds to discharge the residue power, make certain that the 24-pin connector is connect to the motherboard.

Remove all the PCI cards, the video card [if applicable], memory, all peripherals, disconnect the data and power cables to all the drives, check that the front panel cable is connected to motherboard, with nothing else connected to the system, reconnect the power cable and power the system on.

If you do not get any beep codes or diagnostic lights on the front panel, then it would appear that motherboard has died.

What is the sequence of the diagnostic lights?

Start to reinstall the parts one by one and rebooting the system after each part is reinstalled, check for any changes in the diagnostic lights each time the system boots.

OK, since my problem occurs when I plug this P2 in, is this telling me that my processor has gone bad?
