Brian, Precision 490 requires 533 and 667 MHz Full Buffered DDR2 SDRAM with full length heat spreaders. GX280 uses non-ECC 400 or 533 MHz RAM so the answer is no. Check with Dell upgrades, Kingston online memory checker or similar and it will tell you the memory you need. Bob
Just need further clarification from the pros... I have 8x512mb half length DDR2 533Mhz FB ECC RAM without heatspreaders RAM... Can they be use? Thanks
