Impressive laptop; it packs alot at a great price. Only thing missing is an eraserhead, and maybe a better reputation from emachines ;-)

if you ahve seen the laptop in action, you can open your mouth orthewise shut up and spare stupid remarks.

gmelfissg, calm down. ftsig was just expressing his/her opinion - no need to flip out like that.

And, fwiw, I agree... the notebook only has a WXGA screen, and after using my UXGA screen, I'd never go lower than WSXGA in resolution on a widescreen notebook.

I have this laptop I like it but I agree I wish it had a sxga or uxga display and the keyboard layout is kinda wack.  All things considered though the laptop is a good deal.  I wish dell offered athlon processors...

and my friend has the version with a SXGA+ screen. i think.

    i was using it today.

its pretty beastly and thick, but it has lots of cool features and crazy amounts of heat vents.
the only think that i don't like is how its all roundy and doesn't have edges like my 8600 :D

Isn't Athlon running hotter than Intel? If this is the case it's not a very bright choice for laptop.

its amd64 their new chip i didn't think it was meant for mobile though, i guess i was wrong. the laptop is supposed to get around 2-2.5 hours of battery life without and powersaving features turned on.
