Bluetooth led indicates enabled while tray icon indicates bluetooth is off

Greetings,
I'm running windows xp sp2 on an M1330 XPS
When I disable bluetooth via the bluetooth tray icon the Bluetooth led next to the power button is no longer lit (which is good).
The problem is that when I reboot the machine the Bluetooth led gets lit again although the tray icon continues to indicate that bluetooth is disabled.
I have to enable bluetooth thru the tray icon and then disable it again in order for the led indicator not to be lit after every reboot.  I don't want to disable bluetooth from the bios.
Not really sure what's going on here? Anyone know how to solve this problem?
Cheers

I have exact the same problem, this is very annoying since it drains the battery. I don't want to use the hard switch for wifi/bluetooth, I would like it to disable with software.

I am just taking a shot in the dark at this... but try going into services.msc, and set the bluetooth service to:

-disabled ( if you dont want it to start up at all )

-automatic delayed ( it may prevent the light from coming on )

I am not positive this will work, but its worth trying if it resolves your problem....

Hope it helps :)  ... let us know how it goes
