Bluetooth problems...please help
I have a Latitude D400 with a Dell True Mobile 300 Bluetooth internal module. I cannot get the radio to "turn on". When I right click on the icon in the system tray and go to "enable", a window pops up that says to use the Fn + F2 keys to turn on the radio. When I use those keys, it has no effect on the bluetooth and does not turn it on. It only turns off and on my wireless internet. I've tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and software (multiple times) from both the website and my install disk that came with my laptop, replacing the bluetooth hardware piece, and Dell even had me send my laptop back to them to replace the motherboard to see if that may help. After talking to 10 Dell support technicians for a total of over 10 hours and also having my computer sent in for repair and returned in the same condition (I don't know why they didn't test it out before sending it back to me), I am about to give up. Does anyone have any solutions? The support guys at Dell have said they don't know what else to do. I saw a cached message on Google from a guy who had the same problem, but I couldn't see his solution. Here it is, if you're interested:

- Indeed, you have a different model.
I checked Dell's support site for Bluetooth 300. There's a driver that you can download:
"Dell TrueMobile 300 Bluetooth Internal card, v.BTW 3.0.1.803 - Stack Only, A05
Release Date: 8/10/2004". It's not an update though. But you may still want to try it.
Here's the link: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/type.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=LAT_PNT_PM_D400&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=3122&libid=5
There's also a new "Wireless Support" center on Dell's site:
http://www.dell.com/content/topics/global.aspx/support/product_support/en/wireless_solutions?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
Good luck! - I was afarid of that. My hopes of getting this resolved were up for a moment...oh well. And yes, I have tried installing the driver from the dell website and I have spoken to the Dell "wireless support" folks...and they are baffled and don't know how to help me. I feel like I may be stuck and that my addition of Bluetooth to my system when I bought my computer was a waste of money. Thanks again for trying to help me here. If you get any other ideas, let me know. Thanks.

There's an update for "Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal Module", released on 11/10/2005, that you can download from the following link:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R92909&SystemID=Latitude%20D810&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=7388&devlib=0&typecnt=1&vercnt=1&formatcnt=1&fileid=121210
Make sure you follow all the steps described by Dell. It's tricky tough. Because there is a mistake in the point 7 of the installation instructions:
"7.Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\r92906 in the Open textbox and then click OK." In this line, "r92906" is a mistake. Should be "r92909".
When you click Start->Run and paste the right line "C:\DELL\DRIVERS\r92909" into the text box and click "OK", a folder opens. You need to launch Setup.exe and then follow the instructions.
Afterwards, it asks you to restart the computer. I did so. Bluetooth now works perfectly.
Hope it'll help you.
