Composite Battery

What exactly is this?  I just got a new Dell Laptop N5010.  My battery fully charged lasted at best 4 hours.  My old Dell when fully charged had around 7-9 hours.  Not very happy about the step down after buying a new computer.  Also this laptop seems to run Hot.  i have sent it in and they "repaired a new computer" with a heat sink.

When I looked at the properties on my battery I expected to see 6- cell or 4-cell but saw "composite battery"  Should I be concerned with any of this?

Thanks

7-9 hours would have been exceptional.  What model system was that - and was it a 9-cell battery?

The new one is a low-end, budget model - one of the sacrifices made in favor of low cost is that the battery runtime isn't a priority -- low price is.

My old one is a Inspiron 1545 and I am not sure what battery is has... I guess I made a bad choice.  Should the touchpad be warm/hot to touch?  I guess I made a bad choice.  I thought I compared most of the new laptop's features with my old one but apparently not :(

    Thanks for responding
