Dead Pixels

I have a two month old E1705 and it has a dead pixel in the top left corner of the screen. I have a 1900x1200 screen resolutions so im not sure if its one pixel or four. I am wondering if dell will repair this damage, if haven't done anyhting to create a dead pixel so it is not from an misuse.

You might try a Google search for tips on fixing this yourself.  I've read where you can sometimes gently massage the dead pixel area and it comes back to life.

Dell will do nothing for a dead pixel, not unless you have multiple (I believe the magic number is 7 or 8).  Your outa luck unless you wana buy one on your own.  There is  one way to get a new one for free, that is if you purchased accidental coverage ;)

From the Dell on line troubleshooting guide:

In determining the number of missing or stuck pixels, please refer to the following notes and refer to (Figure 1) for mapping locations.

NOTE: It is not uncommon for a display to have missing or stuck pixels. in almost every case, these fixed pixels are hard to notice and do not detract from the display quality or usability. A display with 1 to 5 fixed pixels is within industry standards and is therefore considered an acceptable display. LCD screens that do not meet this industry standard are rarely passed on from the point of manufacture. If you notice more than six (6) fixed pixels on your display, or if there are several fixed pixels in a small area of the screen, then the unit may be outside this industry standard.
