LCD/Monitor problem!
I have a problem with my LCD. It just started recently. My laptop, inspirion 8500, is about 2 months old.
An area on my screen ( upper right against the border) looks as someone is pushing on it - the pixels move outwards. That happens even if i touch any area of the lap top, including the keyboard while i type ( with each touch of the keyboard, it looks like i'm touching the screen) .
It is very annoying, and now that i saw it for the first time, i keep looking at it.
What is the problem and how can i fix it?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Bench,
yes that occures as i am touching any area of the laptop, icluding closing or oppening the lid.
To me it appears that it might be damaged. The thing is that i never had any accidents with it, and it's being taken care off well.
I noticed that problem recently, but it might off been there before. It's NOT very noticable, but like i said, now that i noticed it I keep staring at it.
This is my second "inspiron", the first one came with a scratch on the screen.
Thanks

it seems that there is some pixels that are damaged. why don't you call dell tech support and have them replace your lcd.Well use caution when calling support. If they make you mail it in to them flatly refuse. I had the EXACT same problem you do talked to the support person he said that I had to mail it back. Seems when they got it they found a crack refused to fix it and mailed it back to me now the screen doesnt even work at all. I went round and round with cust service with this issure for 5 days straight and I finally gave up. Will never buy a Dell again.

i think there are two kinds of service with dell, the in-house service and the mail-in service. if you got the in-house service then go for it. if you have the mail-in service then you have no choice but to do that.

HELLO ALEXFUN,
does it affect the problem also if you try to move the lcd panel, like trying to swivel it? and try connecting the system to an external monitor; it the display is normal on the external monitor, it could be the your lcd is damaged.\
