2005FPW Woes

I'm about to ring customer support (UK) to send my fourth monitor back

1st - New, had a bit of backlight issue but no dead pixels. After 3 months developed what looked like water marks along the top and down the left of the screen

2nd - 5 dead pixels, 2 stuck pixels, dreadful backlight leakage - straight back

3rd - OK for a while, but develped scintillating purple and cyan dots (hundreds) on video (thru the S-Video) and in photos and graphics.

4th - Poor backlight, 6 Dead pixels and DVI does not work.

Hopefully you agree these are legit reasons to exchange

So it'll be 5 monitors in 7 months. Dell support in UK have been excellent, have always replaced monitor with no quibbles (thay have asked me to run a few checks though)

Anyone from the UK know where I stand should the next monitor be duff? Can I say enough is enough and get my money back? (But I love the monitor... I just want a reliable one!!!)

I hope your next one is good, the others were junk! I hope they will do what's right if your next one is bad, refund or credit toward another type.

I am reading this backlit issues on the forum and I am really frightened... how can this happen for such a big company!

I have the same problem and think that cannot be solved as the things have come. Maybe a legal action will solve it, but my pocket sure will be down.
