2408WFP makin me mental
Anyone know how to make this thing look good for both games and on the desktop? I can't get the text as crisp as my 2005FPW (S-IPS panel). If I get it looking decent in my games it's bad on the desktop and vice versa.
I'd love to hear some settings to try before I lose my mind. I'm considering trying the Samsung 245BW even though it's TN panel. Makes me really appreciate the S-IPS on the 2005FPW.

Same thing here, problem with text sharpness, its kind of anyoing.
I have heard you can modify it with DDC/CI functions, using a program like this one :

It works and can probably fix your sharpness problem

This software is compatible with all Windows versions (x64 included, I used vista 64 and it works fine).
Use the command line editor as on the picture below to set desired sharpness :
To set Sharpness to 50:
03 8C 00 0ETo set Sharpness to 43:
03 8C 00 0D
To set Sharpness to 37:
03 8C 00 0CPersonnaly 37 is perfect on windows but a bit too blurish on OS X.If you wish to try other values, 00 0D (last 4 characters) are the value of the sharpness parameter.Message Edited by jeanphilippedoyle on 06-21-2008 03:03 PM677

Thanks man .. so how is ur monitor ? mine no issues but i am running 1920 X 1200 on VGA as my DVI only supports up to 1600 X 1200 .. SO do u see the bright left issues or pink issues ? for me its not noticible but little bight on the left only when the screen in the movie goes pitch black .. other than it seems nice monitor ....

Same with my monitor for the bright left issue (back light bleeding) ; it doesn't bother me.
I am running 2x24" on DVI cables at full 1920x1200 and its all good except I am having little issues to adjust both screen so they look the same but I'll probably buy a Spyder3 Pro soon or later (a colorimeter) which should help to fix this.

another hint is to turn off true type fonts in windows- they smooth the edge of the font and make it look bad with the 2408. If your a true type font lover then you can tweak it with windows software so ive heard677

I did use SoftMCCS and before I posted and while it improved it at 37 it still wasn't acceptable. I'm guessing I'd be able to live with it if I could get the colors looking decent. I'm thinking I'll have better luck with the Doublesight since it's a H-IPS panel and not PVA. Glad you guys got yours to satisfactory though.
