Monitor, flashing green power button, no picture

My Dell monitor suddenly went black and the power button for the monitor flashes green. Tried unplugging the monitor. No different. Shut computer down also. Hooked up an old monitor and it is working fine. What could be wrong with the first one? It is a lot bigger than the one that is working.

    Sounds like the monitor has failed and needs to be replaced. Try unplugging the monitor from the computer and then power up.

    Try these steps from a previous post by Chris M (Dell Moderator)

    Monitor STFC (Self Test Feature Check)
    * Turn off the monitor
    * Plug the monitor power cord directly into the wall socket to remove any surge protectors or APCs from the troubleshooting equation
    * Unplug the monitor video cable from the back of the computer
    * Turn on the monitor
    * The floating dialog box should appear on screen against a black background. If the issue appears during the STFC, the monitor is defective. Get it replaced

    And read Dell's monitor warranty rules. Hopefully yours is still under warranty...
