Problem with SP2208WFP dynamic brightness / contrast ?
I just got my new SP2208WFP a few day ago. Like many others have complained, the factory setting was too bright. I tried the preset settings for multimedia, gaming, etc, but none really looked right. I went under the "user defined" settings and turned down the red, green and blue. I set them all to 75 and things looked much better. However, I am experiencing a problem when I switch from playing games to watching video clips. The brightness on the game is fine. However, when I watch a video clip, the brightness is way too dim. It looks like the video is filmed in a very dark room and everything has a reddish tint. When the clip is almost over, the brightness will "pop" up to a normal level and the video looks good. I can, at that point rewind into the video where is was dark and everything still looks bright and good. If I close the video clip and play it again, it does the same thing by starting out way too dark and red. This problem is with any video clip and any play back software that I have tried so far, and I have tried several. Is anyone else having this problem? Or know how to fix it? Maybe I should send the monitor back for a replacement. Thanks.
I agree. Too many cheapo manufactures are using the TN Panels which are the worst. Even if you buy a Ultrasharp 17", 19" or 22" they use the cheap TN Panels. They do this to save money but at the same time you are getting a bad picture.
I too got this SP2208WFP a week or so back, everything looks good except the fizzy TEXT and the overwhelming brightness. Why isn't the screen PITCH BLACK when it is supposed to be.
I don't have any wallpaper selected and I have chosen BLACK color, but the screen is still not PITCH BLACK. It is always slightly bright. How can I fix that?
