do i need a network card?

I have a Dimension xps 500 with Win 98se with a true mobile 1180 wireless usb adapter. I can connect to my broadband but it won't let me set up home networking. It says I do not have the necessary hardware. My computer does not have a network card. Is this what I am missing?  Can I add any pci network card to solve the problem?

If the Motherboard on the XPS will support a PC card addition, then yes, that is what you need.  Make sure you check to see if the XPS needs a full size or compact PC card.

The XPS 500 is a desktop. You have all the hardware you need, the wizard is just being stupid. If you find a tutorial online, you can follow that.
