Good router?

Just wondering, does anyone knowi f the D-link DI-514 wireless 802.11b cable/dsl router(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000088NO8/ref%3Dnosim/7240353-20/103-5125518-9034247) is any good? Do you know of any other good routers that are reasonably priced?

We are using that wireless router at work in the sales area to let them connect their laptops wirelessly to our network and it seems to work as advertised.  I use a D-Link DI-614+ at home and have been very pleased.  Be aware the 514 is only a "b" router (11mb max connects).

Thanks john! Do you know if its good to use the internet with? Because I just want to hook up my desktop computer to it so that I can get the internet wirelessly through my labtop. What requirements should I look for in a router for that?

If you want to do use the desktop as the internet connection and the 514 to be the wireless receiver for the notebook, all using Internet Connection Sharing, I'm not sure it will work that way.  If you have a broadband connection and plan to hook the 514 to that, the desktop to the LAN of the 514, then connect wirelessly to the 514 with your notebook, then yes that's the way to go.

We use the 514 for internet access (the 514 connects to out HP ProCurve switch then on to the internet through our firewall, but that is a very large LAN way of doing it).

Yes, that's the way that I would be setting it up- the cable modem to the router and then hook up the desktop through the lan cable. Thanks for the information, now I know that router is reliable!

I use the Netgear 802.11g version of the that router (the WGT624) and it works fine. Given that they are just relabels of the same hardware...
