Hi guys,
I have been experiencing a lot of wireless problems (unstable connection and weak signal). The system initially came with Dell Broadcom card which worked for fine for a couple of months, but then it started experiencing random connection drops. I replaced it with an Intel 2915ABG which worked well for a few months, but then it started having the exact same problem. I am starting to suspect the antenna. Do you guys know where the other end of the antenna is located? I couldn't find anything on the LCD. Thanks for your help.
Look in the second picture. Looks like it goes under the wireless card.
Here is the info from your manual:
MiniPCI InstallationTo install a MiniPCI card, remove the door from the bottom of the system.
Ensure that the wireless antennae cables are located away from the MiniPCI slot. Insert the card at an angle and insert firmly into the slot. Push the card down to lock into place.
Adjust the antennae to correlate to the coaxial connectors on the card. Carefully press the cable connection to the connector on the card.
I bought a Dell D600 without a wireless card. I bought the MiniPCI card from ebay and installed it and is working. Then I realized that I need antenna too. Mine does not have the antenna wires. So I bught the antenna in ebay too. Does anybody know wehre I should connect the antenna to mother board? Does any body have a picture of mother board where the wire of antenna gets connected to?
