hi, I cannot seem to find any up to date advice on whether it is ok to charge modern laptops to 100%.

I know that the advise used to be to not charge beyond 80% to preserve battery life.  Is this still the same?  And if so is there a setting to stop the battery charging once reached 80%.  My laptop is the Dell Inspiron 16 5645.
