Disable Back System Fan Message

Hello,

I have inherited support on a PowerEdge SC600 and the rear fan is not working.  Upon starting up, I receive the following message: Back System fan was not detected, press F1 to continue/F2 to setup"  It also indicates that system memory is limited to 256 MB as a result.

I'm wondering if there is a way to bypass this message as every restart requires user intervention.  This means I cannot perform any updates remotely as a restart requires user intervention.

Also, does anyone know where I can pick up a 120MM fan with the correct 3-PIN connector so that the issue is corrected?  I'm thinking this one will work: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185006

Thanks.

For the memory issue, go into the BIOS and disable OS install mode.

For the fan, I don't think there is a way to disable that message. You really wouldn't want to run the system without it anyway though. If you wanted a replacement, you could try calling Dell Spare Parts at 800-372-3355 and give them part number 5X892.

The fan is near $100 through Dell.
