I have just completed assembling a 6450 from basically scrach. i have 8 256mb ecc registered pc133 dims from dell in it with 4 pentium 3 500 processors.

I used to have 4 pc 100 ecc redistered dimms and tehy would not work. I got a bois beep codes that told me bad memory. so after finally getting the above ram I pull the server out from storage and insert the ram only to find nothing works. no beeps no video nothing. So I was thinking that it was bad memory. so i pull all the dimms to see if I can get a beep code from it. nada.

I pull all pci cards out, every one.

I install a pci video card in the first 32bit slot, nothing.

I pull teh processors. nada.

I pull the memory board, no dice.

I put everything back and pull the bios battery and power cord and let it set for 10 minutes. putting th battery back in and..... blank screen.

when I press teh power button I get two very quick little, barely audible clicks when the power supplies are cycling on but thats it.

I can pull a power supply or the fan assy out and the status light changes and everything as expected but still nothing. any ideas? I really need to have this system running before Friday. (3-11-05)
