Checking RAID status in DELL servers

Hi Team,

I am new to Dell hardware,

We are using a  PowerEdge 6850 server Installed with RHEL 4.6.

The hard disk which we using are hardware RAID, Could any one please tell me how can i check the status of hardware RAID in Dell.

In HP i have a utility called hpaculi. if  i am installing this utlity then i can ge the RAID status, each disk status, location of disk etc. I am checking for a similar utlity for DELL servers also..

Could any one please help me out on this .....

    Laiju,

    You have a couple options. You can reboot and then access the controller BIOS, now depending on the controller the prompt to access the controller BIOS on boot could be CTRLwith an A, M, R, or C.

    Secondly, you can install Open manage on the server and be able to see the Raid details from within the OS.

    Hi Chris,

    Thanks a lot for your reply.

    When i went the above link i can see two files OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-LX-6.5.0-2247_A01.15.tar.gz

    and OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-LX-6.5.0-2247_A01.15.tar.gz.sign . may  i know which one i have to install..

    And one more clarrification, for installing this whether any down time is required..

    to followup to Chris, if you have the LSI Logic MegaRaid controller you really only need a utility called "Megamgr"

    I simply copy this file over to the server, (i just use /opt/dell etc) then run: ./megamgr

    This will give the web front-end of the raid controller just as if you rebooted and pressed "ctrl-m"

    I use this on our 6850's with LSI perc, and RHEL4.7

    I am unsure if there is a separate download for it still

    Yup that work on Dell R610 on (non) svr windows

    MegaRAID Storage Manager (MSM)

    my file was named:  MSM17050002.zip but i was download ages eg

    www.broadcom.com/support/knowledgebase/1211161491782/megaraid-sas-9260-4i---9260-8i---9260de-8i---9261-8i-downloads

    Just install and reinstall int when need check status

    install HDSentinel is a 30days trial also show SSD usage left. Show me on poweredge  R610 and R620 on dell perc.
