Basically, I installed a simple PCI RAID Controller and connected two 200GB identical drives - both set as Masters (one going to the controller's primary and one to the secondary).  My goal was to setup the RAID, then install XP on it.  BUT the PowerEdge 600sc's bios (upgraded to A09) does not detect any HDDs; it DOES detect the RAID controller.  No matter how I set it up or what jumper settings I use, it refuses to detect the drives.

 

Now if I place a HDD with Windows XP on the system's Primary channel WITH the RAID controller still in the PCI slot, it starts to boot up Windows and then I get a blue screen that says: hardware failure.

 

As I thought it might be a faulty card, I went out and got a different one (different make), but still the same trouble.  What's going on???
