Precision 3630, can't get my headsets to work
Hello Everyone,
I take a class through Blackboard Collaborate and teach a class where I use Zoom and Webex Meetings. I have external speakers for playback and have tried to use 1) Youse headset for the microphone, 2) a lapel mic for the microphone, 3) Logitech H800 for the microphone, and 4) headset adapter splitter. My computer is a workstation Precision 3630. This is my experience:
- When I plug in the Logitech H800, I have no problems because it is USB.
- When I plug in the Youse headset, I want to use the microphone only and external speakers. I use a splitter to use only the microphone and a dialog box with the following appears:
- Which device did you plug in?
Headphones/Headset
over-ear on-ear earbuds
External Speakers External Speakers Medium
- Which device did you plug in?
I don’t know what to select. What is the difference between headphones and headset? I have
selected everything and nothing works.
3. When I connect the lapel mic, I don’t know what to select again because it is not a headphone nor
headset. Again, I have tried selecting different things and nothing works.
What is the difference between Stereo Mix Realtek and Jack Mix Realtek?
I really appreciate help because this is frustrating not to get these other devices to work. Thanks.

I have a 3640. I use a headset for zoom. There is no mic input on the default computer. I spent $10 and bought a usb audio adaptor and now I can communicate fully with my headset
