Dell Precision M4500 - ControlVault Bricked
Hi there.
I'm trying to get the UPEK Fingerprint work by updating ControlVault firmware.
During firmware update, I can see that Dell ControlVault changed from w/o fingerprint to w/ fingerprint in Device Manager.
However, after I restart upon successful firmware update, the controlvault seems bricked. It shows Dell ControlVault 2 in Device Manager.
I then try to reperform the firmware upgrade in DOS environment and I noticed that it reports that ControlVault is in bootstrap mode, and no SBI image is loaded. No matter which firmware i use and what method i use, the SBI won't install onto the BCM5880.
I hope to get advice on how to get ControlVault back to work, so that at least I can use the Contactless Smart Card which used to work previously.
Best Regards.
EDIT : my device is Precision M4500 running Windows 7 Pro x64 (clean install).
