1700 Offline

My 1700 stopped printing altogether the day after I installed the software.  I uninstalled the SW and reinstalled it and now I can print but I no longer have the capability to check toner levels etc as it is off line,,,,any suggestions......

Thanks

I've run across the same problem as well. The person I'm helping has completely removed the software, rebooted, disabled Norton A/V, reinstalled and still no luck.

When he tries to print it says it's offline and after a minute or so it will print. He's shared it with his wife's computer and it prints immediately with no problem.

Kind of odd since it was working fine for a week or so. Does anyone know of any recent Symantec, Microsoft updates that would cause a problem with the software?

    Thanks,
    Matt

I have tried the uninstall routine numerous times including tracking down some of the more obscure Lexmark files (believe printer is actually a Lexmark at heart) which are installed.  Still no luck and somewhat frustrating....might try a USB connection and un then reinstall the SW.

    Success:

Installed a USB cable and unistalled the SW using the uninstall function.  Did a search for all Lex and Dell files and found several even after the uninstall.  Deleted these manually and then restarted computer.  Reinstalled the SW and discovered that I could not print as the port was still on the LPT.  Manually switched to the USB port and it is now on-line and working fine.
