5130 how to clear fuser message?

I have a 5130cdn that's fuser went past life. I moved a fuser into it from another we've been using for spare parts that probably has easily 80000 pages left, but can't figure out how to clear the replace fuser message on the unit. All my attempt to search for this end up finding instructions for other models. How can I clear this error?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately the user manual does not give any indication of how to clear the fuser message, only to replace it which I've already done.

Sorry, that set of steps for the 5330 doesn't work on the 5130cdn.  It's more like the instructions I found for the 2130, but the menu items aren't the same as the 2130, so I'm still not finding it.

Interestingly, I've had the same issue - I spent over an hour on the phone to tech support and they said "it's a printer fault and replace the printer".

    Bit of a joke answer!!

I have just found out that the Dell 5130 is the same as the Xerox Phaser 6700 internally.

However, at least Xerox had the decency of filling their manual out.

    17. Reset the Maintenance Kit counter:

    a. At the control panel, touch Printer.

    b. Touch the Tools tab, then touch Setup.

    c. Touch Service Tools.

    d. Touch Reset HFSI Counters > Maintenance Kit > Reset Counter.

Is what the Xerox menu says, however, I am pretty *** sure I've seen everything on the Dell's menu and I am certain it doesn't include that (I'm not that thick!)

I've updated the firmware to the latest and greatest.

The problem is now, with my printer being 3 years old, Dell won't give a toss.
