We have waited and waited for the Vista driver. It is now April and the driver for the A960 is still not available. The new Dell computers purchased as soon as Vista shipped still have not printed.
The accidental side benefit has been not consuming printer cartidges. Since, the computers cannot print, no new printer cartridges have been used. I guess I didnt' really think about how much printing we were doing. We just ordered new cartridges when the printer driver said to. It is amazing to realize just how much money was being spent printing out simple things like webpages.
Today, I give up the wait for drivers and purchase an HP multi-function printer. While we still have Dell computers, the Dell A960 is going out with the trash.
Good luck to anyone else still waiting. Hopefully you will get the drivers soon.
Thanks for the information. Hopefully it will help out others. I have already commited to leaving Dell and going with HP.
Silly me, I kept referring to the Dell support page that lists when the drivers would be available. The Dell support page still shows the drivers are not yet available. See the link below for reference.
I see that Dell does not have them for all to download yet. But they must have released them to Vista because like I said the Automatic Vista Updates installed the printer driver for me
IF the scan driver is ever updated, will it include the Dell All-in-One Center so that I can select the type of document I want to scan and what type of file I want to save it as?
Drivers are fine for printing (I actually got my print driver from WIndows Update the other day), but the updated drivers are no good for scanning. I guess getting all of them to work is too much to ask.
