scan to email on v715W

When I open Dell Printer Home click on Email it scans the document and opens the Outlook email but then there is a pop up that flashes so quick I can't read it then another pop up says This action cannot be completed.  I have gone through and setup all of the configurations for my yahoo (ymail) account in outlook but am still having this problem.  How do I correct it?

    Hi tigercreek,

Please try the steps mentioned below:

    1. Load an original document face-up into the ADF or face-down on the scanner glass.
    2. Click or Start.
    3. Click All Programs or Programs, and then select the printer program folder from the list.
    4. Select Printer Home.
    5. Choose your printer from the printer drop-down list.
    6. Click Email, and then select Photo, Document or PDF.
Note: You can select Document only if an OCR application is stored on your computer. Scanning starts and the scan progress dialog appears.
    7. When the scan is finished, a new e-mail message is created with the scanned document automatically attached.
    8. Compose your e-mail message.

Note: If your e-mail program does not open automatically, then you can scan the document to the computer and then send it through e-mail as an attachment.

Thanks for your response however, the problem I am having is after I have followed steps 1-7.  A new e-mail message is created but it does not allow me to compose the email.  As I stated a pop-up flashes on the screen so fast I can't read it then a pop-up displays saying "This action cannot be completed".  So I need to know what to do to make it complete the action.

    Hi tigercreek,

If your e-mail program does not open automatically, then you can scan the document to the computer and then send it through e-mail as an attachment.

So there is no way to fix the problem???  Once again my email program opens automatically but there is a pop up that flashes on the screen so fast I can't read it and then the pop up "This action cannot be completed" displays.

I know how to scan to my computer and then send but would really like for the Email (scan to e-mail) function to work.  It would be alot eaiser and faster.

    tigercreek,

    Please continue with DELL-Nikhil D

You are using Dell Printer Home, to scan, correct?

When you have Dell Printer Home opened, is the word, Documents, above email greyed out?

I have a Dell V715w Printer using the wireless adapter and have tried scanning to email, successfully each time. I may be able to help you.

Outlook is setup as your default email program, correct?

What are you trying to scan, Photo, Document or PDF?

    Rick

Yes I am using Dell Printer Home.  When I open Dell Printer Home all of the boxes are shaded in grey the word "Document" above the box with Email is not colored any differently than the others.  I am trying to scan Email PDF.

    Thanks for your help.

    tigercreek,

Sorry for the delay, work and much needed sleep.

    Is the OCR Program installed?

Start, all programs, ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Sprint, ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Sprint

If the OCR Program is not installed, it can be a problem. The list of applications can also be a problem.

Start, control panel, default programs, set your default programs.

Go down the list and if you're using Outlook, click on it, then click on set this program as default. If you have OIutlook setup for your yahoo mail, then it should your default email program.

    Try reading...

Update list of applications to send scans to

Make sure that Adobe Reader is on the list and scan to a .PDF

Make sure Microsoft Word or Open Office is on the list, scan to .rtf

What virus program and firewall are you using?
