Long beeping noise

Dell 2300MP projector
 
When I power up the projector all of the lighted buttons on top of the projector come on and I hear a long beeping sound for 10 or so seconds.  After that the projector functions properly.  Should I worry about this situation, or is this a normal state of affairs?

    Is there anything else connected to the projector, something that might be getting power from the projector or powering on at the same time?

    Dell1510x - it beepa once and then does not display. No fan voice. When I touch powwr button all buttons light up, but still no projectiom.

     

    its just one beep after I power ON press. 

    any ideas what could be wrong?
