UNSOLVED
cd/dvd player has disappeared
When I try to play or burn a cd/dvd my computer tells me the application is not available. When I go to the control panel and try to troubleshoot it tells me the driver does not exist or may be corrupted. I have not used it in 2 months but when I used it back then I had no problems. I have a Dimension 4700c. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi Zena,
Lets run a few of the standard steps for trouble shooting disappearing drives. These will cover the drivers, controller, filters and NVRAM
Please click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to section 15, article 1; Section 20, article 3; Section 100, article 31 (Ignore the reference to Roxio); Section 11, article 2.
Try the first one, if it does not help, move to the next, etc...
