Plextor 716A does not work
Got a new Plextor 716a DVD writer and installed it.
On starting i get the drive is recognised in xp pro sp2 ok but when i insert any type of disk the green light comes on and then turns to orange flashing twice each time. I have updated laster plextor firmware swaped cables checked dma changed jumpers to select dma installed it in another machine totaly different spec and still the same.
Any thoughts ?

If you updated the firmware to the latest version 1.04u, try to reflash the drive to the previous version 1.04 (without the "u"). Some people have had problems with this latest firmware, including me.Smoothieboy

Version 1.05 works for me. 1.04u may have had problems with Dell motherboards.
