7.2 connector and backwards compatibility

Working with a customer who is on vWorkspace 5.6 and doing a side by side upgrade to 7.2. Will the 7.2 client allow them to access the 5.6 legacy system until they have certified the new environment?

    It might very well. However, I am pretty sure the official support policy is only to support 3 versions back.

    Have you tried?

    I am quite sure the default answer is no.  vWorkspace 6.0 brought secure ticketing and enhanced encryption of the client configuration file (.pit) which means that pre 6.0 clients do not work unless you place the connection broker in compatibility mode.  You can do this by modifying the registry on each connection broker as follows:

    HKLM\Software\Provision Networks\Common\Load And License Manager

    CompatibilityMode = 1  REG_DWORD

    Obviously you will need to test to be sure
