Have you tried? 

   Open "Internet Options">Advanced tab>scroll down to"Security"> and check or uncheck Active content settings.

dave5,Sorry I forgot to get back to you. I enabled several of the boxes, 1 allow active content from cd's to run on my computer and 2 allow software to be installed or run even if sig is invalid. Don't know which one did it but it's all good now. Thank you for your help. Happy Holidays!

Well I spoke to soon. I put in the disk that  already did work. I still have the issue where Windows will not allow this other disk to run. I have 1> allow active x not marked as safe, 2 Initialize active x not marked as safe, 3 enable active content to run from cd, 4 allow software to run even if invalid signature, 5 enable install on demand IE and other. 5 Lowered security settings to low. Windows still says it will not run this control because there is no signature.I went to the cd and explore and the file that will not run is DCM_vwr.cab. Also a folder that says run_ auto .exe.I have double clicked both and still revert to the same message. This is not a download from the net so I am thinking that the explorer settings are irrelevant. Is it possible that it has something to do with sp2 not allowing this? Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks

Just a thought, since it did run after changes to the settings. Is it possible, Norton av is changing the activex settings when computer starts up or

reboots.

   I googled the file  "DCM_vwr.cab"  not a lot of hits and it seems to be a image viewer. Most refferances to it were in "hijack this" logs.

dave5, I might not have been very clear in my last post. The disk that will not run never did. A disk from a different sourse did run but I was thinking it was the other disk. I know in my sig that it says I have Norton av but I dont,I got rid of it a while ago and swithced to AVG which I like. This DCM_vwr.cab is definatly the viewer or player but I am wondering if since it is a .cab file it is also a zip file that needs to be extracted. I dont know much about about how to go about this or if is even the issue. I will keep plugging away at this and see what happens. Again Thanks for your input.
