Ensure that your antivirus software has been fully updated with the most recent virus and worm definitions, and perform a complete system scan. If this does not resolve the error, you may also need to run an excess software removal tool on your system such as AdAware or SpyBot.

If that does not help, try a repair of Internet Explorer using the instructions within the following Dell Knowledge Base article:

How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer (IE) 6.0 in the Microsoft® Windows® XP Operating System?

Hi.  I'm experiencing this same problem.  I just got my new Inspiron and everything looks great except graphics that are on webpages.  I've even saved the images from websites and opened them in other programs and they look fine.  So the problem is definitely in the browser.

What I did discover is that they are slightly smaller when saved.  So it seems that Internet Explorer is trying to make the images slightly larger.  So they come out all distorted.  Are there settings that can be checked?

    Please advise.  Thanks.

Oddly enough, this problem *can* be caused by an over-full TIF directory as Denny Denham found when I asked him  to check out a website I was working on.  He found deleting the Temporary Internet Files resolved the issue.  May be worth checking...

I found a solution in another thread.  It worked for my 8600.  And it seems to work for others as well.

Here's some info from Microsoft as well.

I can't believe Dell would ship notebooks with this set this way.  Now I question whether or not they really test these machines before they ship them.
