MKB Article 826942 Wireless Rollup

The article mentioned above is a Wireless update rollup package. I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on the note which mentions to apply Q834565 after Q826942? Searching for Q834565 just refers back to the roll up.

Thank You.

Are you experiencing wireless connectivity problems?  Q826942 has been available for a while, and is a Recommended (i.e, "don't have to, if you're not having any problems") update, near as I can tell.  It was applied here back in May.    I have a rather complicated (wired, wireless G and wireless B, desktop and notebook) network setup here.  I've applied any and all Critical and Recommended updates that pertain to my local configuration as they've become available, with no ill effects.  If you're just catching up now (and if your configuration indicates the need for them), install the updates in the recommended sequence (if you haven't installed them in the order in which they became available), and you shouldn't have any problems.

I was interested in this part of the update:

"You Experience a Long Delay When You Connect to a Wireless Network

When you connect to a wireless network by using 802.1x authentication, your network connection may take between 30 and 60 seconds to be established..."

My laptop which is connected wirelessly via a Dell Truemobile 2300 Wireless Router and a Dell 1300 WLAN mini PCI Card(802.11 b/g) takes extremely long to load. The items loading last are the Wireless Network Connection and Local Area Connections Icons in the System Tray; and ,strangely enough, my Norton AntiVirus. I timed them and it was close to 50 seconds after the desktop appeared.

I was hoping the update would help but am not sure it is referring to the problem I am having.

Given the number of issues that update was purported to address, and given the fact that I installed it immediately after it became available with no ill effect, I think I'd just install it, power cycle all the pertinent components and see if there was any improvement.  If not, it can be removed via Add/Remove Programs.  If so, then I guess you've answered your own question.

Yes. Might as well give it a shot. Thanks for the reply.

Didn't help... but it didn't hurt.
