"prefetch"

what is the prefetch folder for?

I don't remember it being there before. Properties says it was created Monday, I've had the computer for about a month???????

That shows up after online updates from Microsoft for your XP. I got it and for a while my NoAdware program thought it was a parasite. The program will straighten itself out--don't do anything to it.:smileywink:

prefetch saves things that you access often.buy saving it it helps it load faster.sometimes the folder becomes bloated and needs to be cleaned out.to clean out the folder go to start/run/type prefetch in the run box and click ok.it will open the folder go to view and click select all and hit the delete key on your keyboard and when the box opens click ok and it will empty the folder.
