Log on to Windows in Safe Mode. At the Welcome screen press Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice. At the sign-in screen enter Administrator and leave the password blank. If you are not able to log on using a blank password, the program here can set it to blank.

Once you are logged on as system administrator you can go to Start|Control Panel|User Accounts and remove or reset the password on your named administrator account.

Another option, if your system is a Dimension or Inspiron, is to reset it to "as shipped" condition using the procedure here.

note : you can put a password on the gust account by doning this too

To view all of the user accounts:

1) While logged onto the computer, click on Start>Run>and type in CMD.

2) From the command prompt window, type in net users. This will show you every account that is made onto the computer whether it is hidden or not.

To change an account password:

1) While logged onto the computer to an account that has administrative rights, click on Start>Run>and type in CMD.

2) Type in net user then the name of the account then * and press enter. heres an example: net user administrator * or net user "Joe Smith" * . Put the name in quotes if it contains spaces.

3) From there it should ask for a new password. Type in your new password (type very carefully - the command window won't display what you type) and once more to confirm it. If you get the message that the command succeeded successfully you're all set!!

http://www.loginrecovery.com/ is a great website that allows you to view the passwords of users on the computer. The free service takes two days however the optimizedservice needs an accompanying $25 [around that] takes 10 minutes. Personally i would just wait 2 days.
