Hey, late last night my computer started to act funny so i shut it down and rebooted it but then i got this error: Windows coud not boot because one of the following files is corrupt or missing: \Windows\system32\config\system. Now i started the repair consule up and everyone says it should prompt and ask u what windows installation I would like to log on to, but it doesnt. I try and these commands under the repair consule like microsoft says:
md tmp
copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\windows\tmp\system.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\software c:\windows\tmp\software.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\sam c:\windows\tmp\sam.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\security c:\windows\tmp\security.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\default c:\windows\tmp\default.bak

delete c:\windows\system32\config\system
delete c:\windows\system32\config\software
delete c:\windows\system32\config\sam
delete c:\windows\system32\config\security
delete c:\windows\system32\config\default

copy c:\windows\repair\system c:\windows\system32\config\system
copy c:\windows\repair\software c:\windows\system32\config\software
copy c:\windows\repair\sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam
copy c:\windows\repair\security c:\windows\system32\config\security
copy c:\windows\repair\default c:\windows\system32\config\default

but it says acess denied for some reason. I do not have a admin account and never have changed any of the passwords. Oh and by the way i hsve an xps 400. Please help/
