A few days ago my Area-51 R2 stopped showing my temps, fan speeds and saying the pump failed. I did the startup diagnostic and everything passed. I have tried uninstalling and re installing AWCC didn't work. I scanned with support assist and nothing. I have no idea what to do. I'm afraid to play any high intensity game without being able to see my fan speeds and temps.
Good so that sounds like AWCC is corrupted beyond repair and the simple uninstall/reinstall can not fix the issue. I think a clean install of OS may cut/untie the Gordian knot in this case. AWCC is a highly complex software and considered Dell bloatware by some.
On the AWCC control panel for Thermal controls it has Front Ambient sensor 0 degree, HDD 0 degree, VREG sensor 0 degree, PCI 0 degree, CPU pump failed, CPU fan 0 rpm, Top fan 0 rpm, and PCI fan 0 rpm.
Go inside Alienware folder under Programs and look for AlienFXTester.exe. Run the exe and test LED color. If case LED changes during test, FIO still communicates with motherboard. If not, then you have lost usb 2.0 communication between FIO and mobo. If the latter is the case, double check usb 2.0 cable (USB_1) is connected securely on both FIO and motherboard side.
If you see this, it also shows there is no communication between FIO and mobo.
also make sure FIO 4 pin molex power is securely connected.
Another test is to download and run non-Dell third party fan temp monitor app such as HWMonitor. If the app shows normal fan temp, more proof that AWCC has lost touch with motherboard.
on the other hand, if FIO is talking with motherboard as shown by LED control and FIZo board being detected, then your AWCC is corrupted. Uninstall and reinstall is not clean. Try do a fresh clean Windows 10 install then clean install AWCC in one shot. That would hopefully solve the issue.
